Domestic Services

The domestic services department provides a comprehensive cleaning service to various sites and properties across the Trust.  The team comprises of nearly 200 dedicated staff who aim to ensure a safe, clean service is delivered in a professional, helpful and friendly manner.

The department is BICS accredited and received the Cleaning Industry Management Standard, with honours (CIMS) again in 2021.

Equipment Service

The Calderdale Community Equipment Loan Store is a partnership between Calderdale Council and the NHS in Calderdale.  This service is available to provide you and your family with a wide range of equipment to help you live more independently in your own home.

Equipment is offered to help with bathing, showering and toileting; moving, handling and walking; household and kitchen tasks and nursing tasks.  All our equipment is clean and maintained to the highest standards.  All returned equipment is recycled after a deep clean.

If you need help and are at home, you can call Calderdale's Gateway to Care team who will be able to help you.  Alternatively you can get in touch with your District Nurse through your doctor's surgery to discuss your needs.  If you are in hospital, your Occupational Therapist will discuss your needs with you and agree on the equipment that will be suitable.  All equipment in the Loan Store is loaned to you free of charge.  If you prefer, you can purchase your own equipment from outlets such as Amazon or Age UK Shopmobility website.

If the equipment we provided is no longer needed by you or the person you care for, arrangements can be made to have it collected.  Items should be returned in a good state of repair if no longer needed.  Please contact the Loan Store for help and advice.

If equipment is broken please contact the Loan Store reception as soon as possible.  If it is a simple breakdown, the team will usually be able to carry out repairs or maintenance to the equipment in your home.  In some circumstances this may not be possible and the equipment will have to be retuned to our stores.  In this case the equipment will be replaced or other alternatives discussed with you.  We will try and ensure the minimum disruption to you and your family.
